Took the kiddos and my Frankie to go see Janet Jackson live and in glorious technicolor! She opened in this exquisite purple robe, revealing costume after costume, with her squad of ripped dancers gyrating around her for hit after hit. Songs like "Nasty" and "Again" gave me all the feels. The audience was game, filling the amphitheater to near capacity. It was a thrill being back to the Talking Stick Amphitheater (those of a certain age no doubt remember it as the Blockbuster Pavilion, where I saw my first concert [Depeche Mode] and smoked my first cigarette [Metallica]). The weather was kind, with a soft breeze and not too warm. The merch line was less kind, taking Frankie and I almost forty minutes to snag the fam swag. Fun times had. Skipped out early to avoid the mass exodus.
