I wanted to buy this title as soon as I saw the adorable main character, this Playstation mascot bot. Cute. Sleek. Been around for awhile from what I remember ... PS4 maybe? Can't be bothered to research it at the moment. But what I can deliver on is that this game has the vibrant crunchy goods. It's a feast for the visual senses and the haptic feedback pulsating in the controller is wild and such a neat tactile experience. This is Sony's delirious version of a 3D Mario game. You play as AstroBot, a hero trying to find their bot buddies lost in various planetoids and universes. An evil alien and its henchmen have stolen bits of your PS5 rocketship too, and along with your bot buddies, you have to hop, jump, twist, swim, float, you get the point, to find them all and best that baddie! So so so much fun. I can see why this absolute gushing love letter of a video game won Best Game of 2024 recently at The Game Awards. A very worthy choice indeed.
