@ the Movies: "Nosferatu"

I expected this vampire remake to be all high-brow artistic, inaccessible and with a narrative that would watch like a muddy hurricane. I was very happily and creepily wrong. The mood Robert Eggers, the director, creates is deep, rich and thick, with these alternating layers of color mixed with scenes in black and white, the later pulsating with horror. The score just adds to the building crushing conclusion. The performers are phenomenal with Bill Skarsgard disappearing in the role of the lothesome vampire. Lily-Rose Depp, daughter to Johnny, who plays the cursed Ellen, stands out with her wild girations and emotional swings. Wonderful filmmaking all told.
